Start the Year Right - Work Your Brain

Now that the New Year is upon us it's time to start putting all those creative resolutions into action. Do you want this year to be another boring repeat of last year or do you want to make those changes that will really impact your life in a positive way? Even if last year was a good one, it's time to make this one an even better one. Let's start by resolving to work our brains so that all the other things fall into place.

Scientists have shown that regular mental exercise has positive effects on neuro-cognitive functions of our brain. A stronger and more healthy brain is not only sophisticated and a greater ability to solve more problems, but also a happy and successful you. For this reason, it is your responsibility to get your ass up at your local library and look into buying some puzzles, problem solving, and puzzle books. If this selection is not all sound delicious, go to the section on>puzzles and brain teasers. You are sure to find a large array of interesting and appealing mind challenging books. Pick one up and start spending ten minutes a day working that brain of yours.

The results for the New Year will be wonderful. Not only will you notice that your mind works faster but also that you feel better about yourself and that you are much more capable. This is no accident. A healthy brain means a healthy body. The two go hand in hand. Moreover, engaging in mental exercise will garner for you another added benefit: the more active your brain is in doing such mental workouts, the less time available for negative activities like dwelling on problems and other bad stuff. And as you may already know, this latter activity only wreaks havoc with ourselves and ultimately leads to depression.

So are you sold yet? Do yourself a favor. Try this out for one month and see what happens. Get down to the bookstore and buy one of these brain stimulating books. Invest time in your brain and the rest will take care of itself. After all, the only thing you have to lose...is...your mind.
